Introduction

The Quality Management System (QMS) documentation provides guidelines and tools to manage and maintain the quality standards of your project. This section explains how to version your documentation, add navigation features, and update existing versions effectively.

What is QMS?

A Quality Management System (QMS) is a structured framework of processes, procedures, and tools designed to ensure that products or services meet defined quality standards and regulatory requirements. It provides a systematic approach to managing quality throughout the lifecycle of a project or product.

Key Elements of QMS

  1. Verification and Validation (V&V):
  • Verification ensures that the product is built correctly according to specifications and design requirements.
  • Validation ensures that the product meets the needs of the end user and fulfills its intended purpose.
  1. Verification and Testing (V&T):
  • This involves rigorous testing processes to confirm that the product performs as expected under various conditions.
  • Testing includes functional, performance, and compliance checks to ensure quality and reliability.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks throughout the development process to ensure safety and compliance.
  1. Document Control:
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation for processes, procedures, and product specifications.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Regularly reviewing and improving processes to enhance quality and efficiency.

Current Tools for QMS

At present, we use several tools to manage different aspects of our QMS:

  • MatrixReq: A requirements management tool that helps track and manage product requirements.
  • Polaris: A platform for managing compliance and quality processes.
  • (and more)

Future Consolidation

To streamline our QMS processes and improve efficiency, we plan to consolidate these tools into a unified system. This will reduce complexity, improve collaboration, and ensure a more cohesive approach to quality management.

By adopting a consolidated QMS, we aim to enhance traceability, simplify workflows, and ensure that all quality-related activities are seamlessly integrated into a single platform.
